Ready to take your pattern making further? This is your next step.

This four part workshop series builds on the fundamentals of our Pattern Workshop Series, guiding you through the more intricate process of drafting a trouser pattern entirely by hand. If you've completed our introductory series or already have a solid foundation in body measurement and basic pattern drafting this is where your skills deepen.

What you'll walk away with: A confident understanding of lower body measurement and fit, a hand drafted trouser pattern you created yourself, practical skills in fabric cutting for structured garments, and professional insight into the construction techniques behind well made pants.

Workshop 1 — Measuring for Fit May 24, 2026 · 9–11am

Trousers demand a higher level of measurement precision than any other garment. In this foundational session, you'll learn how to measure the lower body accurately including inseam, rise, hip, and waist and understand how those measurements translate to a well fitting pant. Spec sheets and Points of Measurement specific to trousers will be covered in full. (Please bring a pair of pants from home. All other supplies are provided.)

Workshop 2 — Drafting Your Trouser Pattern May 30, 2026 · 9am–1pm

This is where your measurements become a pattern. Working by hand, you'll learn to draft a full trouser block front and back panels, crotch curve, and leg shaping while exploring how seam allowances and grainlines behave differently in structured, lower body garments. You'll leave with your own pattern card and sewing instructions.( All supplies provided.)

Workshop 3 — Cutting with Precision May 31, 2026 · 9am–1pm

Trousers require careful, deliberate cutting. This session focuses on transferring your pattern onto fabric with accuracy, navigating the directional demands of trouser construction, and applying bias cut, cross cut, and straight cut techniques to more complex pattern pieces. (All supplies provided.)

Workshop 4 — Construction & Finishing June 6, 2026 · 9am–1pm

In the final session, you'll watch your pattern become a finished garment. Skilled sewing technicians will demonstrate the complete trouser construction process walking you through waistbands, seams, and the finishing techniques that give pants their professional shape and structure. (All supplies provided.)
